Revitalize Your Hair & Skin With PRP Treatment

At Revitalize Aesthetics MedSpa, we provide our clients with state of the art PRP treatments near you that help to revitalize and restore your hair and skin. PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, is a concentration of growth factors and other nutrients that are derived from the patient's own blood. When injected into the scalp or skin, PRP can help to stimulate new hair growth or promote the healing of damaged tissue.

PRP treatments are safe and effective, with minimal downtime or side effects. If you are interested in revitalizing your hair and skin, we encourage you to book an appointment for PRP restoration in Cambridge!

Benefits of PRP Treatments for Rejuvenation

If you're interested in learning more about PRP treatments, here we discuss the benefits of this treatment and how it can help improve your appearance.

  • Fewer Wrinkles & Fine Lines

PRP treatments can help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face. The platelets in PRP release growth factors that stimulate collagen production, which can help to improve the appearance of the skin.

  • Smoother Skin Texture

PRP treatments can also help to improve the texture of the skin by making it smoother and more evenly toned. The growth factors in PRP promote cell turnover, which helps to slough off dead skin cells and reveal new, healthy cells.

  • Reduced Acne Scarring

PRP treatments can also help to reduce the appearance of acne scars. The growth factors in PRP stimulate collagen production and promote cell turnover, which can help to improve the appearance of scars.

  • Thicker, Fuller Hair

PRP treatments can also be used to improve the appearance of thinning hair. The platelets in PRP release growth factors that stimulate hair follicle activity, which can lead to thicker, fuller hair.

  • Younger-looking Skin

Overall, PRP treatments can help to give the skin a more youthful appearance. The growth factors in PRP stimulate collagen production and promote cell turnover, which can help to improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and scars.

  • Under-eye Rejuvenation

PRP can help to treat dark circles, creapiness and unwanted textures under the eyes!

What Your Treatment Will Look Like

PRP treatments have become increasingly popular in recent years due to the fact that they are minimally-invasive, have little-to-no downtime, and can be used to treat a variety of aesthetic concerns.

But what exactly happens during a PRP treatment, and what can you expect in the days and weeks following your procedure? Keep reading to find out.

  • Before Your Treatment

Before your PRP treatment begins, your aesthetician will cleanse your face and/or scalp to remove any dirt, oil, or makeup. Once your skin is clean, they will apply a numbing cream to help minimize any discomfort during the procedure.

Next, they will draw a small amount of blood from your arm—usually about 30cc, which is less than 2 fluid ounces. The blood will then be placed in a centrifuge where it will be spun for 5-10 minutes in order to separate the platelets from the red blood cells.

While your blood is being centrifuged, your aesthetician will prepare your skin for injection by cleansing it once again and applying a topical antiseptic. They may also use a microneedling device to create microchannels in the skin, which will help the PRP penetrate deeper into the dermis.

  • During Your Treatment

Once your platelet-rich plasma has been isolated, your nurse will inject it into the areas of concern on your face and/or scalp. The entire treatment usually takes less than 30 minutes from start to finish.

  • After Your Treatment

Immediately after your treatment, you may experience some redness and tenderness at the injection sites. This is normal and should subside within 24-48 hours. Please note that mild bruising can last up to 2 weeks.

In the days and weeks following your treatment, you should see continued improvement in the appearance of your skin as well as renewed hair growth in the treated areas. Most patients require 3-5 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart for optimal results.
